Analyst: Yuichi Sawayashiki explained the current status and reality of their respective businesses as well as concrete
and realistic undertakings. We believe the keys to the smart life segment are increasing
the number of connected products, improving the quality and quantity of information
obtained from customers, retaining customers by using AI and providing monetizable
services, and investing in brand and direct-to-consumer services. We feel Sharp is better
at inter-business collaboration than other large consumer electronics makers such as
Panasonic, it excels in software, and it has a larger installed base of smart products. For
these reasons, we think Sharp has a competitive advantage and hold expectations for
its future developments. We also find it interesting that the company excels in certain
geographic markets such as Indonesia. Regarding smart workplaces, we see value in
the customer base that Sharp has built through copiers, PCs, and other hardware, and
expect to see some results, even during the current medium-term plan, from its lifecycle
management (LCM) services. Over the medium to long term, we see niche markets for
Sharp in satellite communications and robotics. We expect the display business to finally
