Freshworks Inc: Refresh 2026: EX-First Company With Enterprise Momentum
UpdateMManagement’s framing around “Agile Enterprises” was a useful articulation of where
Freshworks believes it has the strongest product-market fit: organizations large
enough to have sophisticated IT and employee service needs, but not so large that
they want the cost, complexity, and administrative burden of heavyweight
platforms. Freshworks’ pitch is “enterprise-grade without enterprise complexity,”
and management supported that with several proof points: customers spending
more than $100K now represent >40% of Freshservice ARR, EX customers
spending >$100K grew ~40% YoY, and EX ARPA grew ~18% YoY.
Profitable Scaling Business, With FY28 Targets Calling for $1.4B+ ARR and $1.3B
Revenue by FY28. Management made the case that it is profitable, scaling, and
operating from a stronger financial base than investors may appreciate, noting that
the company has expanded both operating and free cash flow margin by ~700bps
over the past two years. The company also raised its FY28 framework, increasing its
ARR and revenue targets to $1.3B+ and $1.4B+ from $1.2B+ to $1.3B+, respectively,
and targeting a Rule of 50 profile by FY28, including 32%-34% FCF margin. The
topline raise is primarily driven by higher confidence in EX growth (expected to
growth 'mid-20%'), supported by stronger pipeline, larger deal sizes, expansion
momentum, and broader product coverage across ITSM, ITAM, ITOM, ESM, and
AI. See Exhibit 5 and Exhibit 6 .
AI Both a Direct Monetization Opportunity and an Indirect Growth Tailwind. On
AI, management highlighted a broader roadmap that includes recent
announcements like AI Agent Studio, MCP Gateway, Freshservice ITAM & ITOM, and
XLAs & Executive Overview Insights.
