Generative AI product sales nearly doubled y-y
Corning released Apr–Jun results and held a briefing on 28 July. Sales in its optical
communications segment sales were up 32% y-y and after-tax profits in the segment were
1.8x the prior-year level. Carrier network sales, mainly to telecom carriers, rose only 1%,
but enterprise network sales, mainly sales to data centers, rose by a sharp 65%. The
company said that generative AI product sales nearly doubled (Figures1, 2, and 3). The
