Closing price INR 13,442 24 July 2026Maruti Suzuki (MSIL IN, Neutral) launched the refreshed Brezza SUV on 24 July 2026 at

an introductory price of INR 740k for the 1.0L (new) and INR 829k for the 1.5L (new)

(vs INR 826k old). The major update on the Brezza is the underbody CNG tank and a Implied upside -0.1%

new 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine that develops 110hp and 170Nm of torque.

Our view: The 1.0L turbo-petrol engine is priced more attractively, as it benefits from the

Relative performance chartlower 18% GST bracket versus 40% for the existing 1.5L petrol engine. This will also be

margin accretive. Brezza was the only major compact SUV stuck in the 40% bracket, as

its >1200cc engine missed the small-car definition that peers had (Nexon, Venue, Sonet,

etc). The new 999cc turbo (<4m, <1200cc) restores Brezza's tax parity. Management

highlighted that the turbo variant is aimed at premiumization by catering to customers

seeking strong performance. The underbody CNG variant will also increase the appeal

with more boot space. Note that Brezza doesn't have a spare tire in any variant now.
