Sona has established a dedicated environment, health, occupational, health and safety (“EHS”) function to oversee EHS issues for its operations

and adopted a comprehensive EHS management system and processes which are applicable to all its employees and contractors in its premises.

The company’s plants have sewage and effluent water treatment units for water reuse as well as rain water harvesting systems. Its Gurugram and

Manesar plants also have rooftop solar panels installed for power generation. On the social front, it makes financial and non-financial contribution in

the areas of: 1) environmental sustainability and ecological balance, which includes measures such as supporting projects aimed at reducing fossil

fuel dependence, combating air pollution and supporting nature and wildlife conservation organizations; 2) better healthcare and nutrition through

measures such as health outreach program, health awareness program, support in developing healthcare centres, women and child nutrition,

promoting sanitation; 3) supporting armed force veterans and dependents, by setting up old-age homes and day-care centres; and 4) providing

scholarship and support to rural youth underprivileged children, empowering women and promoting gender equality. On governance, Sona has an

experienced board consisting of 8 members (4 independent directors and 1 woman director) that oversee the entire function of the company. It has

also set up other appropriate committees like the audit committee, remuneration committee, etc, to ensure transparency and to protect and enhance

shareholder value.
