• German logistics leasing rises outside of largest cities: Leasing of German logistics

properties by square footage increased at an annual rate of 23% in the first half, with a

large portion of that growth coming from regions outside the country’s seven-largest

cities. Total space take-up reached about 3.3m nationwide in the first six months of 2026,

marking a 4% increase over the past 10-year average. BNP Paribas Real Estate attributed

the rise to a high number of transactions and a noticeable increase in large-scale leases.

Total leased square footage fell 6% from a year earlier for the largest cities, while rising

42% collectively for smaller logistics regions based on available inventory. (Source:
