Credit Card Insights into US Multi-Industry – June ’26 Week 5

CITI'S TAKE

Andrew Kaplowitz AC

We continue to examine a subset of Citi US Credit Card data (June ’26 Week +1-212-816-0642

5; ended 7/4) for potential read-throughs. Following high temperatures, the andrew.kaplowitz@citi.com

“HVAC Bucket” inflected meaningfully in June ’26 Week 5 (in-line with our

expectation, see here for June ’26 Week 4 report), and the AC and Vladimir Bystricky

Refrigeration Repair Shops subcategory posted +20.0% y/y growth +1-212-816-6595

(potentially +ve TT/CARR/CSW). Encouragingly, in the “Auto Bucket,” all vladimir.bystricky@citi.com

three subcategories returned to +ve y/y growth after modest deceleration

trends the prior two weeks (potentially +ve GTES/DOV/VNT). In the Jose Sulca Flores

“Consumer Bucket,” Car Washes (+15.7% y/y) and Swimming Pool Sales and jose.alonso.sulcaflores@citi.com

Supplies (+7.0% y/y) returned as the strongest subcategories this week, and

interestingly, we point out that the Stationery, Office Supplies, Printing and

Writing Paper subcategory returned to +ve quarterly y/y growth in 2Q26

(following four quarters of y/y declines; potentially a read-through for

MMM).

General Description — Card Insights represent a selected subset of Citi’s credit card

transactions and are not representative of Citi’s overall credit cardholder population.

The data is highly aggregated, anonymized and should be considered in the context

of other economic indicators and publicly available information. All cards included

within Card Insights comprise a panel of more than 10 million US cardholders.
