disciplined, rejecting expensive bids at auction and pushing yields down from a

peak near 18% to 16.5% at the last 20-year auction.. However, this could change in

the new FY following a meeting between Finance Minister Musasizi, BoU Governor

Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego and senior BoU officials on Wednesday where they

discussed stronger coordination between fiscal and monetary policy including

fiscal consolidation, prudent public spending and measures to support the

effectiveness of monetary policy and macroeconomic stability (UBC, June 25
