IBE - Avangrid to install 41-MW battery in Oregon

- Renewables Now reported that Avangrid yesterday unveiled plans for the construction of a 41-MW/82-MWh battery storage

facility in Oregon, expecting to bring it online next year.

- The IBE unit will install the battery energy storage system (BESS) in Gilliam County to provide flexible, fast-responding

capacity that will enhance the reliability across its 3GW portfolio in the Pacific Northwest.

- The facility, dubbed Shutler, will function as a large power bank and will provide storage capacity for two hours. To be located

near two existing Avangrid facilities, the BESS will be able to supply c3,000 homes when fully charged.

- Currently, Avangrid operates almost 100 power generation sites with over 11 GW of installed capacity across 25 states in the

US.

Markets - SPX was down 80bps from the European close to finish down 0.1% on the day, RTY +0.4%, NASDAQ -0.4%.

Volumes actually down 10% vs the 5dma, Treasuries were bid all afternoon, 10y closed 4.40%, VIX was down 4%. It was maybe

supposed to be a quiet session into MU earnings but while indices closed broadly unch there was 1/ a decent fade in the afternoon

2 / outsized moves in big macro assets (USTs, Oil, Gold, DXY) 3/ decent rotation under the hood. Lower inflation headwinds

expectation is probably to best way to recap it. MoMo, AI/Tech were all under pressure with Crowded Longs lagging, shorts

squeezing and S&P exAI finding some breadth. Housing, Retail, Consumer Discretionary were all standouts.
