BERN TO RUN: We made a pair of sneakers! Part 4 - Bernstein
takes over a shoe factory
“This is not just a shoe” becomes reality. We took over a factory and manufactured our William Woods

william.woods@bernsteinsg.com entirely by us (production pictures below). These trainers represent the many levels at which

Alice Buckley Our visit to the factory. This week, we flew to Portugal to see our very own sneakers in
+44 20 7676 6739 production. We were able to see the end-to-end production of our sneakers from stitching
alice.buckley@bernsteinsg.com the uppers to moulding the lasts, from cementing the outsole to boxing the finished
product. We had chosen Portugal as a cost-effective but high quality, high speed option for
Rhea Gudiwala production. Our chosen factory makes 1,000-1,500 pairs a day and is based in one of two +44 20 7676 7293
rhea.gudiwala@bernsteinsg.com centres of shoe production in Portugal. The average RRP of the sneakers that they produce
is €200-500 and they work with well-known brands that you would know.
