2Q26 Recap: Insured BH Provider Bottleneck Leads to Revenue Miss
and Guide Down
CITI'S TAKE
This was another tough quarter for TDOC, driven entirely by a disappointing Neutral / High Risk
performance and guidance reduction for BetterHelp. The core of the
disappointment stems from a faster-than-anticipated shift from the DTC Price (29 Jul 26 16:00) US$9.18
cash-pay model to insurance, which was met with a critical provider capacity Target price US$11.00
bottleneck. This created a revenue "air pocket," as the decline in cash-pay Expected share price return 19.8%users accelerated beyond what the nascent insurance business could offset.
As such BH revenue fell 11.6% y/y (missing our/cons. estimates by 4.7%/3.7%) Expected dividend yield 0.0%
while adj EBITDA fell $11.4M. More importantly, TDOC reduced BH revenue Expected total return 19.8%
guidance by ~12.5% for FY26 missing our/cons. estimates by 11% which led to Market Cap US$1,657Ma ~5% reduction in enterprise revenue missing our/cons. estimates by 5%/4%.
While the Integrated Care (IC) segment remains relatively stable, the focus is
now squarely on how quickly TDOC can alleviate the provider bottleneck in its
insured network to offset DTC attrition.
Price Performance
2Q Profit Towards High End of Guidance — 2Q26 rev of $606.9M missed Citi/cons. (RIC: TDOC.N, BB: TDOC US)
by 2.2%/1.4%, as accelerating BH cash-pay deterioration overshadowed another
solid IC quarter. IC rev grew +0.7% y/y, largely meeting our/cons. estimates, and
landed in the upper half of guidance, with IC adj. EBITDA of $65.2M (16.5% margin)
beating Citi/cons.
