Results Summary

Croda reported a solid H1 2026, with adjusted EBIT of £155.8m, modestly ahead of

consensus, driven by a stronger-than-expected Consumer Care performance. Consumer

Care was the standout division, with Q2 organic sales growth accelerating to 13.5%, supported

by exceptional Beauty Actives growth and resulting in 14% EBIT growth and 130bps of margin

expansion. Life Sciences remained mixed, with weaker H1 profitability reflecting earlier Crop

Protection and Pharma Solutions headwinds, but underlying trends improved through Q2, with

management pointing to stabilising Crop Protection demand, a stronger Pharma Solutions

order book and a better H2 outlook. Overall, Croda maintained FY26 guidance and reinforced

confidence in second-half delivery, while continued progress from the transformation

programme provided further evidence that margin expansion is increasingly being driven by

self-help initiatives rather than solely relying on end-market recovery.

We view the key debate following the results is how much of the strong Q2 Consumer Care

performance is sustainable. Beauty Actives growth accelerated to +27% in Q2 and

management was explicit that customer launches contributed to the strength, while also

cautioning against extrapolating this growth rate into H2. We remain comfortable that Beauty

Actives can sustain double-digit growth given improving innovation activity (we forecast +12%

in Q3), increasing penetration with multinational customers and clearly structural tailwinds in
