Exosens: strong 1H 2026 with record margins, guidance at top of range
plification division (71% of group) revenue is >95% dependent on defence budgets, which are
by nature highly volatile year-on-year, fluctuating with changes in geopolitical circumstances. Rapid retreats of Western armed
forces from overseas operations (such as the recent Afghanistan withdrawal) or lower perceived geopolitical risk can lead to
sharply lower defence budgets, which may impair the group’s growth prospects. Changes in funding programmes and subsidies
for R&D (that cover 1/3 of the group’s gross R&D expenditure) could lead to materially higher opex at Exosens, hurting its margins.
Customer concentration is high (40% of group revenue with the NVG market leader Theon), leaving the group vulnerable to
sudden, unpredictable changes in customer spending patterns, as well as to leading customers’ component manufacturing in-
sourcing attempts. Trade wars could affect revenue growth prospects in Life Sciences and Industrial control verticals (72% of
Detection and Imaging division, itself 29% of group revenue). Finally, the group has put in place an ambitious bolt-on M&A policy
with the aim to double its revenue base in Detection and Imaging, implying a significant execution risk depending on the quality
of available takeover targets.
