to forecast, with quarterly growth trends impacted by lumpiness of contracts
(e.g. Central Lab, BioPharma Product testing). The company has signed deals in
areas like CDMO and BioPharma product testing which should help deliver
improvement in growth over time. Over the medium term, management believes
that the secular growth trends remain intact - they see potential for China drug
discovery/ AI to drive an increased pipeline of molecules/products which can
support a return to normal growth rates.
n Market dynamics and competitiveness: Management discussed competitive
dynamics within each end market and believe in positioning Eurofins as one of
the leading players in each. As such the company continues to evaluate its
portfolio to decide on core vs. non-core activities. The company also sees players
exiting markets where growth has been in decline in recent years (eg.
agroscience). In discovery, ERF sees Chinese competition posing a threat, but
believes it can result in more innovative products entering the testing market in
the next few years.

made under the current five-year plan will start to bear fruit over the next 2–3
