Truck Shipper Survey #365, Week of July 9, 2026 10 July 2026

This week, our proprietary bi-weekly BofA Truckload Demand Indicator for shippers'

Equity0- to 3-month freight demand outlook increased to 64.0 (the second highest level

Americassince April ‘22), from 63.3 last survey. The Demand Indicator has now held above a 60- Road Transport/Trucking

level for 8 consecutive issues (4 months) and 10 of the past 12 issues. The sustained

strength in our BofA Truck Shipper Survey Demand Indicator (14-week avg is 63.0)

provides increasing confidence that underlying growth catalysts are driving shipper

views, aside from the sustained supply-side capacity cuts. The Demand Indicator is up

16% yr-yr. Additionally, the Capacity Indicator remains near its lowest levels since May

2021, highlighting the widespread impact of ongoing truck driver/capacity removal. The

Inventory Indicator suggests inventories have moved below a balanced level. These

factors, in sum, have led to robust truck market pricing. Rail carloads were up 5.9% yr-yr

this week. DAT Dry van spot linehaul rates (ex-fuel) increased to $2.28/mile this week,

from $2.23/mile last week, up 50% yr-yr. Of the respondents, 51% had Positive short-

term demand outlooks, from 47% last issue, Neutral outlooks were 44%, from 47% last

issue, and Negative outlooks were 5%, from 6% last issue. In the week of July 9, we Research Analyst

surveyed 43 shippers for views on truckload demand, supply, pricing, & inventory levels. BofAS
