short of a referendum or an accession timetable. The market implications thus remain
limited in the near term, but if public opinion shifts, this could become a highly relevant
long-term SEK regime theme.

4. What are the potential economic and market implications of the election?
The election is unlikely to alter Sweden’s core macro-financial outlook, but the policy
composition could have implications across sectors and assets. A continuation of the
right bloc would imply a relatively predictable extension of the current policy mix,
supporting consumer-exposed sectors, private nuclear energy expansion, and defence
procurement, though maintaining tight labour supply constraints. The implications of a
centre-left government would depend heavily on the composition of the cabinet: a
moderate S or S+MP minority would likely have limited market implications, while a
stronger V/MP role could have significant effects for regulation of private welfare
operators and pivot energy strategy away from nuclear power. For SEK and rates, the
political transition itself is likely to matter less than whether the result produces a stable
budget path and how the fiscal policy mix interacts with the Riksbank’s inflation outlook.
The main macroeconomic implications will likely centre on how the fiscal impulse is
allocated. A right-bloc government would likely keep policy tilted towards
disposable-income support through tax cuts and energy relief, alongside defence
spending and measures aimed at improving business conditions.
