Germany opens 2.5 GW onshore wind tender

Germany has opened its latest tender for onshore wind, auctioning c.2.5 GW of capacity.

The maximum value for this bidding date is 7.25 cents per kilowatt hour. Bids need to be

placed by August 3rd, 2026. The total auction volume for the year will be 10 GW, with the

last auction taking place on November 1st. Source: Press Release

Taiwan amends offshore wind auction rules

Taiwan has revised its Round 3.3 framework to allow terminated offshore wind projects

to rebid and expand, freeing up c.1.2 GW of capacity. Developers can obtain additional

capacity up to 50% of their original allocation, subject to a 1 GW single-developer limit.

The country set a 9 GW offshore wind target to be reached by 2030 despite weak

Centrica: Sizewell B nuclear power plant has been granted a 20-year life extension. The

plant was due to shut down within the next decade, but under a deal with the

government its lifetime will be extended to 60 years to help meet the UK’s growing
