The mass adoption of autonomous vehicles is expected to take time but also to Goldman Sachs India SPL

reduce the number of road accidents, with Allianz forecasting a c.20% reduction in

accidents by 2035 and c.50% by 2060. This changing mobility transforms the liable

parties from the driver today to 6 potential liability partners including the owner,

OEM, tier supplier, AI / software, technical supervision and authority / approval. This

creates a more complex risk landscape for the insurer, requiring modified products,

specific AV pricing risks, risks shifting from the human driver to technology,

increasing cyber vulnerabilities and liability frameworks which are still being

developed. Despite a low penetration today, Allianz sees itself as well positioned

given its: 1) global footprint, 2) its research capabilities (Allianz Center for

Technology), and 3) retail, commercial and partnership expertise.
