Meet the Analysts

Richard Garchitorena, CFA, is a senior equity research

analyst covering the North America Metals and Mining

sector, joining Barclays in 2025. He has worked in the

investment industry since 2004, including roles with Extel-

ranked research teams at Credit Suisse (Metals and

Mining) and Wells Fargo (U.S. Chemicals), where he led

coverage of the agricultural sector. He also spent six years

on the buy side at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas

(TRS) as lead analyst for the Global Materials and Precious

Metals sectors. Richard holds an MBA from the University

of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, a BBA in

Finance and Management Information Systems from

Simon Fraser University, and is a CFA charterholder.

Amos Fletcher is a Director and head of the European

Metals & Mining equity research team at Barclays, based in

London. The team ranked top 3 in the 2026 Extel survey.

Amos joined Barclays in 2011 from J.P. Morgan Cazenove,

having previously worked at Morgan Stanley where he

started his career. Amos graduated with a first class degree

in Classics from Durham University. He is a CFA

charterholder.

Ian is a Director within Equity Research at Barclays

covering mining & metals equities and is based in London.

Ian joined Barclays in December 2011 from JP Morgan

Cazenove where he spent three years. Prior to JP Morgan

Cazenove, he spent five years at Anglo American as a

metallurgist in various operational and consulting roles,

and two years with commodity consultancy CRU

Strategies in London. Ian graduated in 2000 with a
