SITE Analyst Day 2026: Clarity on Growth Algo, Self-Help & Share Gain Driven
ta, FactSet, Jefferies
Margin Self-Help Is the Story. The 420bps of EBITDA margin expansion targeted from 2025 to 2030
is majority self-help driven, with Mgmt. seeing margins of 11-12% by 2030 under a flat market, while
achieving the 13% target requires market demand returning to historically typical levels in 2028 and
beyond. On the self-help initiatives, mgmt. outlined 200-340bps of expansion from focus branch
optimization (40-60bps), small customer mix shift (20-40bps), procurement efficiencies (20-40bps),
delivery optimization (40-80bps), and private brand expansion (80-120bps). Mgmt. targets private
brand penetration of roughly 100bps/yr. Focus branch improvement is expected to be a 2-3yr effort.
End-market growth is expected to drive 120-180bps of margin expansion through leverage from
higher organic sales (80-120bps) and focus on branch sales growth (40-60bps).
Capital Deployment Focused on Acquisitions. Acquisitions remain a key growth pillar, contributing
~3–4%/yr. Mgmt. sees 260 active targets ($6.35B sales) and believes the market can support
$200–300M of acquired revenue/yr for at least the next decade. Synergies have been consistent:
the 2014–2019 cohort improved from ~11% to 16% after-tax ROIC by 2025, driven by ~350bps
revenue outgrowth, 100bps GM expansion, and 50bps SG&A leverage. Geographic white space
remains meaningful, with full product penetration in only ~30% of top markets. Greenfield openings
will rise from 3–4/yr to 5–10/yr, with Agronomic Sales Centers expanding from 13 to 40+ by 2030. Stephen Volkmann, CFA * | Equity Analyst
