tissue and detergents supporting the reacceleration of Procter's
sales to +2.8% in the last four weeks. Weekly volatility should
continue, but lower gas prices could direct spending to HPC.
▪ Beauty +6% in 2Q, reaccelerating to +6% in the last four
weeks. L’Oreal’s outperformance of +200 bps at +7.0%
reflects haircare premiumization and trade-up to
dermatological skincare, consistent with Walmart's
commentary. ELF decelerated to +2%. Ahead of the
haircare expansion at Target, the elf brand fell (7)%,
inclusive of skincare, with makeup down (4)% on (12)% unit
volumes, confirming high elasticity.
▪ HPC improves, as price-sensitive laundry and tissue
reaccelerate. PG sales at 2.8%, with improvement on tissue
(comp-driven) and laundry, as Tide and Procter’s laundry up
3%, outperforming the categories by 60 bps. CL flat, still
driven by Household as toothpaste weakens; Hill's up mid-
teens at Amazon. CHD (adjusted) held at +5%, as core-
category reinvestment (laundry, oral care, pet) reinforces
the strategic benefit of the vitamins divestiture. KMB
improved to +1% on tissue, offsetting Huggies’ fractional
