May-26: the UK was resilient on the EV demand, the US and the EU saw modest growth
Auto sales saw a muted performance in the US and the EU, while the UK continues to be resilient.
The US demand was flattish with weakness in premium segment offset by the mass category. The
EU growth was modest with premium segment outperforming the industry. The UK sales were
strong driven by a strong demand for xEVs amid rise in fuel prices. Industry’s BEV growth was
mixed, but penetration improved in the UK and France, declined in Germany and flattish in the US.
Leading lateral data trends: weak consumer sentiment across major markets
Consumer sentiment trends, a lead demand indicator, remained significantly weak across the EU,
the US, and the UK; though UK showed a modest recovery. US used car prices and incentives
