Norway moves long-range air-defence decision forward to 2027

Norway's nine parliamentary parties agreed yesterday to accelerate long-range air defence by four years, reversing the

government's March proposal to defer the acquisition to 2033. The system choice now falls in 2027, the investment decision

in 2028 and phase-in from 2029. We read this as a potential catalyst for KOG's Full Spectrum Air Defence (FSAD), the

framework that extends NASAMS with anti-ballistic capability, which KOG indicates could be delivery-ready by 2030 given

near-term investment from a partner nation. The acceleration restores Norway as the likely launch customer, and a domestic

order would unlock signi1cant export potential, with a delivery-ready FSAD offering a credible alternative in a long-range

segment constrained by multi-year Patriot and SAMP/T backlogs.

The Full Spectrum Air Defence

FSAD is KOG's next-generation air-defence architecture. It seeks to be the world's rst system capable of meeting the full range of

operational requirements on its own, from drones to ballistic missiles. This is made possible by the system's ability to connect to a variety of

radars and missile types, which are automatically selected based on the nature of the incoming threat. The system introduces automated

interceptor recommendations, while retaining oversight with only a handful of operators. A modular approach to both software and hardware

enables new capabilities to be added without the need for extensive restructuring, providing synergies and reduced life-cycle costs.
