Commerce Protocol (UCP), announced in Jan '26, and their Agentic Payments Protocol (AP2),

which we wrote about after its announcement in Sep '25). Per mgmt., UCP has now added

support from Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Stripe, as GOOG works to establish

an industry-wide agentic commerce standard. Meanwhile, UCP will soon add support for

additional product verticals (including hotels and local food delivery) and is also expanding to

Canada and Australia "in coming months," with United Kingdom support to come later. As we

wrote in September, the AP2 protocol was developed by Google and >60 industry partners to

enable secure commerce for AI agents. AP2 relies on verifiable credentials to establish trust

between autonomous AI agents and third party merchants, while ensuring accountability in

case of fraud or mistaken transactions.

Google to Introduce Smart Glasses Later in '26: Google on 5/19 announced new "audio

glasses" to debut this fall, in partnership with Samsung, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster.

Per mgmt., GOOG plans to develop two types of wearable smart glasses that vary based on

how they communicate with the wearer: display glasses and audio glasses. GOOG at I/O

provided a demo of the audio glasses, which include microphones and cameras for recording

the external environment. The glasses leverage Gemini's AI models, and users can say "Hey

Google" and request info (including visual info, such as name / hours of a restaurant you're

walking by) or ask Gemini to perform agentic tasks. The glasses can also handle a bevy of

smartphone-related tasks, such as sending text messages, taking phone calls, listening to
