This week’s April US CPI report showed some signs of stickiness in ex-rental Macro Strategist

Ex-rental services inflation had fallen from a 3–4% range in 2000-2009 to a 2–3%

range in 2010-2020, before rising during the pandemic (Figure 1). This had been Matthew Raskin

expectations. Since the end of 2022, it had been on a disinflation trajectory, and
