Our view on the Lithium market & Equity post Fastmarkets Lithium conference +1-904-887-0349
Last week, we attended the annual Fastmarkets Lithium conference and the overall
tone was moderately optimistic. All market players are much more in tune with the
current market conditions than in the past two years, with the majority being
bullish medium to long term, supported by the growth prospects of Energy
Storage (supported by data centers and AI too) but also electric trucks demand
growing fast, but 'quietly' in the background.
n This year brought a much more diversified landscape of market players,
including of course Lithium players, but also some other Critical Minerals
companies (MP Materials), Energy Storage companies and, maybe the
most surprising, a variety of Alternative Energy companies. We noticed a
decrease of China-based participants this year compared with the previous
years, which we attribute to a much more divergent market by geography.
This conference is highly focused on a Western supply chain which was
reflected in the overall discussions.
