CVI down 2.63ppt w-o-w to 81.64ppt

Centaline/HKET: The Centa-Valuation Index (CVI), an indicator of upcoming property price

trends from major banks’ perspective, was down 2.63ppt w-o-w to 81.64ppt for the week (26

June-2 July). Centaline commented that the CVI has eased to its lowest level in nearly three

months, but it has remained above the 80ppt level for 21 consecutive weeks. This indicates that

banks continue to maintain a positive stance on mortgage lending, suggesting the uptrend in

property prices remains intact.

Garden Regency to upload its sales brochure

HKEJ/HKET: Sun Hung Kai Properties plans to release the sales brochure for its new

residential project Garden Regency in Kam Tin, Yuen Long next week. The development

comprises three residential towers providing a total of 566 units, including one-bedroom to

three-bedroom units as well as special units.

Hong Kong retail sales up 7.9% y-o-y in May 2026

Government release/Reuters/HKEJ: According to the Monthly Survey of Retail Sales released

by the government, the value of total retail sales in May 2026 was HKD33.8bn, up 7.9% y-o-y,

extending the growth streak to 13 months. Most major categories of retail outlets recorded

growth in sales over the period. The government notes looking ahead, continued economic

expansion, steady growth in local wage earnings, and a further increase in inbound visitor

arrivals are expected to provide ongoing support for retail.
