Belgium-Senegal was an even greater whirlwind of emotions. Down 0-2 late in the

second half, Belgium’s Lukaku narrowed the gap in the 86th minute and Tielemans

sent the game to extra time with a header three minutes later. A penalty was

awarded to Belgium in the stoppage time of extra time. From 12 yards, Belgium’s

captain Tielemans scored the latest goal in World Cup history to win the game.

After scoring the opener late in the first half against Bosnia, Folarin Balogun was

shown a straight red card in the 64th minute, which complicated the game for the

USA. Despite being down to 10 men, the co-hosts sealed the game with a wonderful

direct free kick from Tillman and advanced to the round of 16. The country roads will

now take them to Seattle, where they will face Belgium on July 6th.
