Valuation Methodology: We use a DCF to value Sainsbury and derive a valuation of 355p per share. This assumes a terminal growth rate of 1.5%, a

terminal margin of 3.6% and a WACC of 7.9%.

Risks which May Impede the Achievement of the Barclays Research Valuation and Price Target: We believe the main downside risks to our price

target are as follows: If the UK grocery market additional signs of becoming more aggressive, this would be unhelpful for sentiment on the whole

space. Sainsbury is more geared into the non-food market following its purchase of Argos – if consumer spending comes under pressure, this could

have a particular effect on Sainsbury.
