In our view, the historical industry traits of the auto sector—capital and labor

intensive, cyclical, low growth, competitive, and highly regulated—have been a

primary contributor to depressed valuation multiples. Some variables are beyond

control, but others, especially on the supplier side, can be mitigated or converted to a

competitive advantage by management. We believe Lear’s Advanced Manufacturing

Integration Center in Rochester Hills showcases structural improvements in process,
