NATO summit – from political commitment to industrial execution

The NATO Ankara Summit marks a shift from political commitments to industrial execution, with a clear emphasis on

bridging near-term capability gaps through US–Europe licensing and co-production, while laying the groundwork for future

systems to be developed locally with European partners. These efforts should reduce dependence on US capacity over time,

improve availability of key systems in the near term, and support a gradual transition toward a more consolidated landscape

with fewer, standardized next-generation European weapon systems. This consolidation should enhance interoperability,

reduce fragmentation across national inventories, and improve economies of scale in both production and lifecycle support.

Larger multinational procurement programs may modestly dilute contribution margins, but we believe the volume benefits

will more than offset this. Our estimates already assume a 10p.p. contribution margin dilution for KOG, while EBIT margins

still scale above 20% by 2028. Below, we highlight the announcements and initiatives we see as most relevant for KOG,

spanning air defence, deep strike and counter-drone capabilities.

Belgium NASAMS package – EUR 3.1bn order pending signature

EUR 3.1bn package for 10 NASAMS batteries and 20 Rheinmetall Skyranger 30 units, riding on existing Dutch framework contracts. The
