JD Todd Bigger picture: exit rates broadly firmed, but this is not clean

sensitive lines: Hill's on Amazon (+20%), elf (Naturium switched

to 1P), L'Oréal (jumped to +11%) and Coty fragrances (high

teens). Church posted HPC's strongest 2Q at +5%, but

detergents softened into the exit as Procter's intervention gains

traction. Procter's exit is volume-led, with price-mix easing.

▪ Beauty accelerated to 8% in June, closing 2Q at strong

6-7%. L’Oreal’s outperformance of +450 bps at 11.0%

reflects haircare premiumization (+20%) and trade-up to

dermatological skincare, consistent with Walmart's

commentary. ELF steady at ±4%, entirely on Naturium ─ a

switch to 1P on Amazon further overstates its growth. The

elf brand exited at (6)%, inclusive of skincare, ahead of the

haircare expansion at Target. In makeup, price tweaks

aren't yet landing, with elf lagging both NYX and CoverGirl.

▪ HPC rebounds, as price-sensitive laundry and tissue

reaccelerate. PG sales at 3.8%, with volume turning

positive to 2.5% and price-mix easing on improvements on

tissue (comp-driven) and laundry, with Tide and Procter’s

laundry up 3%. CL rebounded to 3% driven by Household,

while toothpaste stabilizes; Hill's up 20% at Amazon. CHD
