CRWV / NBIS - Readthrough for Neoclouds Re: META July 1, 2026

Bloomberg reported that META is developing a cloud infrastructure business that

could sell access to AI models and compute capacity. The negative readthrough to

neoclouds is tied to greater competition, lower future META demand, and risk to

existing contracts. We think this is a misread across all three. META has invested

heavily to secure capacity, and we don’t think it would use newly contracted Arsenije Matovic

neocloud capacity with next-gen GPUs to support external sales and monetization. amatovic@wolferesearch.com

While Zuckerberg previously stated external compute sales were an option if

META overbuilds, we view the potential strategy as likely focused on monetizing Alex Zukin

slowdown. We also don’t see this as a meaningful LT competitive threat to neoclouds, View Alex’s Research

as META would likely sell excess capacity to a different customer set with less overlap

with the AI lab and hyperscaler demand for new GPUs that neoclouds serve, even if

there is some NT overlap given today’s supply and demand imbalance.

We estimate META represents 36% / 45% of backlog for CRWV / NBIS, respectively.

We don’t expect the strategy to affect existing contracts, which support recent and

in-progress builds with new GPUs, including Vera Rubins. The latest META deals

also suggest little risk of cancellations, as CRWV secured an $8.5B DDTL backed by

its META deal from multiple lenders, while NBIS has META's optionality to cover up

to $15B of capacity under its contract. We think a hyperscaler seeking cancellation
