Did the UK just hint at Vanguard vessels?

The UK has unveiled a Type 91 uncrewed missile platform that shares a striking design overlap with KOG's Vanguard

concept. Announced on 28 and 29 June as part of a hybrid manned-unmanned fleet replacing the cancelled Type 83

destroyer, the Type 91 will operate as a satellite to ≥6 Common Combat Vessels (CCVs), "drone hub" motherships, with at

least two Type 91s per CCV (≥12 hulls minimum). KOG CEO Eirik Lie confirmed at CMD 2026 that "the UK is looking at the

same thing" as Norway and Canada (meaning Vanguard concept). Combined with Germany's MEKO A-200 frigate decision

last week, two of Europe's largest defence spenders have committed to major naval programs within seven days, both with

credible KOG content angles. The full UK Defence Investment Plan will be published tomorrow (30 June), ahead of the NATO

Ankara summit (7 to 8 July). Keep an eye open for potential KOG order implications.
