[Xingzheng Pharma] Science Corp.'s Brain-Computer Interface System PRIMA Receives CE Certification for Vision Restoration

Recently, PRIMA, a brain-computer interface system developed by US company Science Corp., received EU CE certification for functional central vision restoration in patients with geographic atrophy (GA) caused by age-related macular degeneration (AMD) (enabling reading of letters, numbers, and words). This product is the first brain-computer interface product approved in the EU. Meanwhile, it has also received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and Humanitarian Use Device Designation in the US, and is actively advancing registration and market access in the US. PRIMA is a novel subretinal photovoltaic implant device with dedicated glasses. The glasses project near-infrared light onto the implant, which converts it into electrical stimulation signals; its "magnification" function can magnify letters for patients.
