Ford presented dealers with a $25,000 small crossover and a four-door
Mustang priced under $40,000 at a private meeting in Las Vegas. The
$25,000 crossover, available in gas and hybrid versions, is expected to launch
in 2029. Ford has not disclosed the crossover’s name, and the designs shown
were not finalized.
Volkswagen Group is set to revamp its U.S. strategy with new leadership
and an expanded product lineup, including a new pickup, according to a
company source. Marco Schubert, former head of sales at Audi, will replace
Kjell Gruner as CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, following Gruner’s
departure.
Sony Group Corp. and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. are in
discussions to invest ¥1 trillion in a planned image sensor factory in Japan,
aiming to start production in 2029. The joint venture targets demand from AIpowered robots and self-driving cars and supports Sony’s shift toward a more
asset-light strategy in sensors, focusing on intellectual property.
Tesla plans to increase its delivery sites in Japan by 60% this year, according
to Nikkei.
