for vehicle purchases by ride-hailing drivers and taxi drivers. In April, the

government announced a R$2bn contribution allocated to the vehicle-financing

program. The potential new contribution is being considered amid increased

economic uncertainty, as banks’ greater preference for liquidity may reduce their

appetite for lending and increase the relevance of public guarantees. The amount

and final structure of the potential contribution have not yet been defined. Our

take: We note that an additional contribution to the FGI may support credit

availability for SMEs by reducing the risk borne by financial institutions. However,

the final amount and impact on credit origination will depend on the design and

implementation of the measure.

Agibank launches investment platform to expand customer relationships

According to Valor, Agibank launched an investment platform for its base of more

than 7.5mn clients. The offering will initially include simpler products, such as the

bank’s own CDBs, and should later expand to products from Agi Asset and third-

party providers. Agibank already distributes CDBs through external platforms, but

expects the new channel to allow it to interact directly with its client base. The

initiative also aims to meet customer demand and diversify the bank’s funding
