UpdateMTrucking / Logistics: Recent developments in trucking are centered on
commercial production and launch of driverless fleets, as AUR leads peers and
pushes the timeline to gain customers and launch driverless operations. AUR
recently launched its second-generation driverless Class 8 truck fleet featuring next-
generation hardware that is durable and efficient and based on the international LT
Series truck; in partnership with Roush, AUR targets an annual production run-rate
of 1,000 trucks by YE2026. AUR has now addressed safety concerns through
additional testing and screening, promoted the economic benefit of autonomous
trucking (~2x rev per truck), demonstrated how it increases operational efficiency by
noting time saved vs. human drivers (~40% faster), and made it accessible for
individuals who have no exposure to AVs through its Aurora App – all serving as
key drivers for ramping commercial adoption and raising current industry
standard. Following the launch, AUR announced two new customer agreements
with Value Truck and Charger Logistics who will start using AUR's driver on one lane
and expect to expand in the future to their broader respective networks. TLSA Semi
also announced customer agreements: QX Logistix ordered 20 Semis and will begin
operations in CA in 2027, and Paper Transport began evaluating the Tesla Semi on
its established routes. More significantly, for the first time, TSLA CEO Elon Musk
gave a timeline for the launch of a fully self-driving TSLA Semi, stating a target
of early 2027 for driverless operations.
