MediAsas and DRG aim to improve sustainability

The panel highlighted MediAsas and the DRG payment framework as key pillars of

healthcare reform. DRGs seek to align reimbursement with patient outcomes and value,

while MediAsas incorporates affordability features such as hospital tiering and co-

payments. Together with greater adoption of digital health and electronic medical

records, these initiatives aim to reduce inefficiencies, curb overutilisation and moderate

healthcare cost inflation over time.

Digitalisation and governance remain critical

As implementation progresses, the focus will shift towards operational readiness,

provider management and building trust in a more connected healthcare ecosystem.

Policymakers emphasised the importance of digitalisation, data-driven decision-making
