CITI'S TAKE
Neutral Renesas Electronics issued its first report on the business impact of the
2026 Kumamoto earthquake on July 29. According to the press release, Price (28 Jul 26 15:30) ¥3,462.0
both the Kawashiri plant (front-end processes, located in Minami-ku, Target price ¥5,200.0
Kumamoto City, which recorded an upper 6 on the Japanese seismic Expected share price return 50.2%
intensity scale) and the Nishiki plant (back-end processes, Nishiki-machi, Expected dividend yield 1.0%
Kuma District, which recorded a 4) have suspended operations since the Expected total return 51.2%
earthquake occurred. Renesas says that both plants have no issues with

Example of 2016 — During the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes (April 14 and April 16),
the Minami-ku area of Kumamoto city (where the Kawashiri plant is located)
recorded seismic intensities (Japan scale) of lower 6 on April 14 and lower 6 on April
16 (with another lower 6 on April 15), while Nishiki-machi in Kuma District (where the
Nishiki plant is located) recorded seismic intensities of 3 and 4. As a result, the
