Inflation Considerations
In regards to costs as it relates to the broader global markets, HCSG's purchasing and
procurement teams are actively monitoring the landscape and surveying its supply chain
to stay ahead of any developing trends. HCSG called out its long standing vendor
partnerships, which provide the critical visibility and stability necessary to navigate
market volatility with confidence. In the event that specific supplies or food items
experience outsized inflationary or cost pressure, HCSG said it is prepared to pivot
sourcing strategies to mitigate direct exposure. In terms of food inflation, HCSG noted
that 2Q saw a step up to +1%, marking the first sequential increase it has seen after
seeing three consecutive sequential quarterly step downs. On the wage side, HCSG
continues to see ongoing stabilization and improvement within the labor market.
Ultimately, in the event HCSG experiences those cost increases, the company does have
contractual rights to pass through both food and wage inflationary increases to its
clients.
Genesis Bankruptcy
HCSG noted that it continues to provide services to the Genesis facilities, despite on-
going bankruptcy proceedings, with no disruption in operations, operational outcomes,
or payments. The company expects this to be the case through the duration of the post-
petition period. HCSG noted that in January the bankruptcy court approved the sale of
Genesis to 101 West State Street, which is a group of well-known operators in the space
and which HCSG has an existing relationship. From a timing perspective, HCSG said the
