Texas Looking to Jump Start Nuclear in a "Pro Texas Manner": The Texas

legislature via HB 14 created TANEO to standup a $350M fund to encourage the

development of a Texas nuclear industry. The office (staffed by former senior

political staffers) is looking to leverage Texas's manufacturing capacity, local

uranium mining resources (~8% of total US reserves), and supply chain for reactors

and technologies developed by companies that it supports. The agency is working

on helping companies with air permits, regulatory processes, and land issues. As the

agency deploys capital, it is looking for projects that are likely to succeed (i.e. shovel

ready) and lower on the risk spectrum.
