What you need to know:

Yesterday, we published our summary note on CREA's home sales activity and average prices•

data, as well as CMHC's housing starts data for the month of June. Overall, home sales activity

continued to climb in June while new listings fell back, driving sales-to-new-listings ratio further

up. Although the average home sales price edged lower from May, it remained above last

year for the third consecutive month, reinforcing signs that home prices have stabilized. CREA

expects home sales activity to improve further in the second half of the year, as price stability

could attract buyers waiting on the sidelines. For full details, see our note "Housing Market

Chartbook: More Signs of Price Stability Could Spur Buyer Demand".

On the macro front, June inflation data is due on Monday and will provide much-anticipated•

insight into the extent of the impact from elevated oil prices.
