Background
Japan Prime Minister Takaichi has set out a $2.3tn investment roadmap across 17 strategic sectors
to build a "strong and prosperous archipelago" (see here). The initiative reflects a broader global
return to industrial policy, with governments increasingly deploying public and private capital to
enhance competitiveness, economic security, and technological leadership. On this call, we will host
Sho Fukuhara, Jefferies Capital Goods Research, to discuss how Japan's re-industrialization is
unfolding in practice, with a particular focus on Capital Goods (see report). We will explore where
investment is being deployed, which industries we believe stand to benefit most, and what the
implications may be for global investors.
