Golden Dome Era: Contracts Commence on SDA

for LHX & Space Co

On 7/13, the SDA announced the award of two agreements worth $1.75BB to

procure 36 Accelerated Missile Defense Tranche 3 (AMDT3) satellites as part

of the Tracking Layer within PWSA. LHX was awarded ~$955MM to deliver

18 missile defense variant satellites, while a separate satellite manufacturer

received ~$798MM to provide 18 missile warning and tracking satellites. The

contract starts $s flowing for Golden Dome & provides tracking for hypersonic

missiles.

JEF Take: SDA Award comes in w/ a name change. Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor

(HBTSS) is now known as Accelerated Missile Defense Tranche 3 (AMDT3) satellites. The total

award for $1.75BB is w/ two contracts w/ LHX at $955MM and each contractor at 18 sats (as

expected). The contract starts $s flowing for Golden Dome and provides tracking for hypersonic

missiles which can be difficult to track given speed, direction and proximity to ground. For LHX, the

value per sat is $53MM driven by efficiencies and requirements. LHX will manufacturer in Indiana

and FL sites.

SDA Awards $1.75BB AMDT3 Contracts For 36 Satellites. The SDA awarded two agreements
