Sobi receives Complete Response Letter: Sobi received a Complete Response Letter (CRL)
for chronic gout asset NASP/SEL-212, with the FDA requesting additional information on the
CMC and contract manufacturing package. This is broadly consistent with our view that the
filing carried greater risk than was widely appreciated, given the product's complexity and prior
management commentary on manufacturing. While the CRL is likely to delay launch by 12–
18 months, the absence of any concerns with the clinical data package should limit any major
reassessment of the asset's long-term potential. Recent FDA correspondence also points to
broader quality systems, documentation and data integrity concerns at a key manufacturing
site, suggesting the issues extend beyond a narrow technical CMC deficiency. Consensus
forecasts NASP contributing just 0.5% of revenue in 2026, rising to 2% in 2027 and 3% in
2028, implying limited near-term earnings sensitivity. However, the stock is well owned, and
the outcome may be seen as a modest hit to management credibility. Sobi maintains that its
2030 ambitions remain unchanged, while the delayed launch could allow some planned SG&A
spending to be deferred given the gout sales force has not yet been fully hired.
