May 2026 Sensor Tower data indicates on track performance from Chinese +852-220-36240
publishers, with 38 ranking among the top 100 global mobile game earners. These
publishers collectively generated US$2.29bn, marking a 13% YoY increase. The
combined quarter-to-date (QTD) revenue for 2Q reached US$4.54bn, also up 13%
YoY.
Tencent – May performance remains on track
Tencent solidified its mobile gaming leadership in March, securing 9 positions
within the top 20 global ranking (an increase from 8 in April). Notably, "DNF Mobile"
saw its monthly revenue surge by 141% MoM, driven by successful 2nd-
anniversary promotion activities on May 20th. This propelled the title to 8th place
on the revenue ranking, up from 19th in April. "Roco Kingdom: World" also
maintained its popularity, holding a top 20 position for three consecutive months
since its March launch. Overall, we project a 10.5% YoY increase for Tencent's 2Q
domestic gaming revenue.
NetEase: May ranking slip slightly; eyes on "Sea of Remnants" in 3Q
NetEase's representation in the top 20 mobile game rankings decreased to 2 spots
in May, down from 3 in April. While "Fantasy Westward Journey Mobile" and "Eggy
Party" maintained strong performance, "Identity V" fell out of the top 20 for the
month. Despite this, NetEase is looking towards "Sea of Remnants" in 3Q. We
model a +7% YoY increase for NetEase's 2Q gaming revenue.
