We recently interacted with Syngene and Concord Biotech management.

Key takeaways: 1) Syngene has identified gaps impacting RFP conversion

and has initiated corrective actions. 2) FY27 will be a transition year for

Syngene due to ongoing destocking impacts. 3) Concord’s FY26 weakness

was driven by US destocking, with restocking in FY27 expected to support

recovery. 4) Oncology and anti-infectives are expected to be key near-term

growth drivers for Concord.

Syngene

New CEO set to take over: Syngene has appointed Mr. Siddharth Mittal as CEO effective 1-

Jul-26. Current CEO Mr. Peter Bains will continue until Sep-26 to ensure a smooth transition.

Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, who assumed the role of Executive Chairman in Apr-26, selected

Mr. Mittal given his pivotal role in Biocon’s generics success, along with his extensive

experience in executive and client-facing roles and strong familiarity with the group’s culture.

FY27 a transition year: Syngene has guided for flat revenue and mid-20s EBITDA margins

in FY27, characterizing it as a transition year. The company has not factored in any sales

contribution from Librela due to destocking and expects growth momentum to resume from

FY28.

Key gaps identified with corrective actions underway: Syngene has identified critical gaps

across its research, manufacturing, support, and commercial verticals as part of efforts to

improve performance. The company is focused on strengthening capabilities aligned with

client requirements in both small and large molecules, with the objective of enhancing RFP

conversion rates.
