On 22 June, we had the opportunity to tour the NanoTerasu next-generation synchrotron (Note: Quick Note reports are not a

radiation facility and Tohoku Electric Power's Shin-Sendai thermal power plant. vehicle for changes to ratings, target

prices, or earnings forecasts)NanoTerasu is a synchrotron radiation facility on Tohoku University's Aobayama Campus.

The facility, which opened in April 2024, has been designated by the government as a

specified radiation facility, and is at the cutting edge of research domains involving soft x-

rays. The facility is used for research to make batteries smaller, have higher output, and

have longer lifespans, and to develop eco-tires. One of NanoTerasu's distinctive features Research Analysts

is that it is a large-scale research facility made possible by a public–private partnership. Japan utilities & oil

The Shin-Sendai thermal power plant is an LNG-fired combined cycle thermal power plant

with units that came on stream in 2015 and 2016. Thermal efficiency is above 60%,

making this a highly efficient thermal power plant.
