Barclays: Feedback from Anna Cross CFO meeting. A first for me yesterday with a spec sales only CFO meeting kindly
hosted by Barclays. Overall the message was very confident - on both Barclays progress but also on the resilience of UK growth
where debt/GDP for both corporates and consumers is at a low helping the loan growth trends on the corporate side in particular
as well as the structural/regulatory changes in the last 15 years around lending helping protect on the credit cost side. We talked
about US IB competition where the CFO’s view is it had been a feature for the last 4-6 quarters and Barclays are keen to
understand where FRTB finally lands in the UK. We talked about industry consolidation given the ongoing regulatory burden but
